Dynamo DS governance transformation
Overview
Dynamo DS was widely adopted across Chase UK — but its governance ran on central review, a model that scales compliance, not capability. As the bank grew toward millions of users and EU expansion, that control became the bottleneck.
Action
I led the strategy and roadmap to reposition Dynamo from a control mechanism to platform infrastructure: making system quality visible, moving decisions closer to squads through core and local libraries, and building a support model for comprehension and capability.
Results
Maturity moved from 27% to the 40% Advanced threshold — governance up 16 points — with squads operating more autonomously and Dynamo recognised at executive level as platform infrastructure.
Insight
Governance is a design problem. Build for judgement, not compliance.
